Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Audits (HPwES)
Maryland – $100 for Qualified Residents

The HPwES program links Maryland homeowners that are interested in learning about the root causes to comfort and inefficiency connected to licensed contractors that are experienced, trusted and properly certified to diagnose the issue and recommend the correct measure to improve the situation.  A properly conducted home energy audit through the ENERGY STAR program is set up to educate the homeowner so they understand the root cause of the issue and understand the correct treatment to achieve results.  The program is designed to create outcomes that enhance a home’s energy performance, overall comfort and indoor air quality.

In order to participate in the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, a contractor must be properly licensed,  certified and qualified to perform comprehensive home energy audits.  As a result of these high standards, you can be sure that when you choose AGHS to get a home energy audit, that you will be in the hands of a professional that will be able to properly assess your home and make the recommendations that will benefit you the most.

Comprehensive home energy audits include air leakage testing (blower door testing), thermal imaging, health and safety testing, insulation inspection and an attic and indoor ventilation inspection.  Included in the program fee of $100 for the audit is up to fourteen LED lightbulbs, faucet aerators and efficient-flow showerheads, water heater pipe insulation, “smart” power strips and a neat adapter for the shower that are all designed to save you money right away!

After everything is finished up, usually in about three hours, the auditor takes the information and begins the process of preparing a comprehensive reporting package that includes information about your energy usage, a detailed summary of testing results and findings as well as a detailed work scope that addresses the items that you and your auditor discussed at the time of the audit.
